The Share of Capital in National Income decreases in the United Kingdom as in France : Update of Figures by T. Piketty in "Capital in the Twenty-First Century"

The split of national income into capital and labor incomes has been the subject of an abundant literature since at least Adam Smith. Imputed rents impact it significantly. Their calculation is complex and subject to revisions.
Thus, a mere update, without change in the methodology, of figures 6.1. et 6.8. of "Capital in the Twenty-First Century" by T. Piketty reverses their result : in the United Kingdom as in France, the share of capital in national income has not increased, but decreased lately.
Here are :
- a paper on the British case : « The share of Capital Income in National Income has not been increasing anymore in the UK since 1987 : an update of Figure 6.1. of T. Piketty’s "Capital in the Twenty-First Century" », A. Bambade, September 2023 ;
- a paper on the French case : « The Share of Capital Income in National Income : update at 2017 of Charts 6.7. and 6.8. of T. Piketty’s "Capital in the Twenty-First Century" », J. Friggit, October 2018 ;
- a synthesis about both countries (in French) : « La part du revenu du capital dans le revenu national a diminué au Royaume-Uni et en France depuis les années 1990 : une actualisation de graphiques du « Capital au au XXIème siècle » de T. Piketty, A. Bambade et J. Friggit, Variances, septembre 2023 ».
